The Norwegian Association for Development Research (NFU) works to promote research, training and network building within development research. The NFU organises the annual NFU conference. The NFU runs the Forum for Development Studies jointly with the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI).

Forum for Development Studies

Forum for Development Studies is a journal for development research broadly defined – including the social sciences, economics, history and law. Forum is owned by NFU and found its present home with Routledge in 2010. Subscribtion to Forum is included in the NFU membership fee.

Awards

The NFU has annual calls for submission of MA theses and articles to be considered for the NFU awards. Both awards (NOK 10000) are presented at the conference dinner of the annual NFU conferences. Submissions are welcome!

Events

The Annual NFU Conference is the signature event of NFU. The 2012 conference 'Development for a Finite Planet' will be held on November 26 - 27 at CIENS, co-organized by CICERO and NORAGRIC.
